It seems just a few weeks ago when Tony told me the amount of points required to enter UTMB was raised from 7 to 8 points.

Alright! Today was the day: Loop van Vlaanderen. After unexpectedly entering the top 20 last year in 4h12, public ambitions for this year were to do better. Secretly however, I put the bar higher and even though preparations hadn ’t been perfect, I still wanted to go under that 4h barrier.

Alright, I just decided to turn doubts into decisions and run the 2nd edition of the “Loop van Vlaanderen” tomorrow.

Marathons. There ’s something legendary about them, which is probably why they appeal fascinating to so many. Of course, there ’s the story of Pheidippides to feed the legend. There are the amazing images of thousands & thousands of people at the start of the big city marathons, not to mention the stories they tell afterwards. But let ’s cut the crap, shall we?

The Western States 100 is one of those legendary races. Probably the most legendary one on North-american territories. Take that as a starting point, add a battle between 4 of the greatest trail runners at the time during the 2010 edition of the race, and you ’re in for 2 hours of breath-taking cinema
